Media Release: Sea☆A embarks on regional auditions‏


REGIONAL SEARCH FOR NEW ANISONG MEMBERS FOR Sea☆A






13 July 2012, Singapore – Anime-loving youths with a talent in singing and performing will now stand a chance to be a star! Renowned Japanese artist management company HoriPro has embarked on a regional talent search for new members to join successful girl idol group Sea☆A. Aspiring youths from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, can submit their entries from now till 9 September 2012 online. Auditions will be held in Singapore, with the winners having their debut appearance in Anime Festival Asia 2012, the region’s most established anime and Japanese popular culture festival, this November in Singapore.


The winners will each win an artist contract with HoriPro, and become the latest members of Sea☆A, an anisong all-girls idol group that has started in June 2011. Within the first year, Sea☆A has risen to stardom, with several singles and performances in large scale concerts in Japan and various countries. They have also shared the stage with high-profile Japanese artistes such as May’n.
Female youths aged between 15 to 22 years old, are interested in Japanese anime or anisong, and have a talent for singing may apply. Participants who are under the age of majority will need to submit proof of parental consent before joining the competition. A round of auditions will be held in Singapore for shortlisted participants, with the final winner determined in October. The winner will have her debut performance with Sea☆A during this year’s Anime Festival Asia on November in Singapore. More details regarding the activities of the winners will be announced at a later timing.

From Anime Festival Asia's very own Moe Moe Kyun maid cafe comes the latest Anisong idol unit to debut in Japan, Sea☆A! Made up of Winnie, Beryl, Valerie and Estelle, Sea☆A hopes to capture the hearts and minds of anime fans, both in Japan and overseas, with their own special brand of appeal.
Their first single, Dream Shooter, has been featured as the third ending theme of the hit TV anime, Cardfight!! Vanguard. Their single, 'DELI-DELI☆DELICIOUS', was the ending theme of Toriko. On end November 2011, the girls performed at the prestigious Animax Musix 2011, in Yokohama Arena, alongside names such as May'n, Shoko Nakagawa and angela.
Their latest single, “Friendship Birthday -Arashi no Yoru ni-“is the opening theme of the animated TV series “Arashi no Yoru ni -Himitsu no Tomodachi-“ (“One Stormy Night -Secret Friends “). Not only has the show started its broadcast in Japan, it will be shown in over twelve countries in the Asia, Europe, North and South America! The song also marks the first time any Anisong artiste recorded the same song in Japanese, English and Chinese.

The name Sea☆A is made of three parts. SEA is short for South-East Asia, as all four members who come from South-East Asia. The star represents the stars that they hope to be. DREAM SHOOTER (August, 2011) - Ending Theme song of Card Fight!! Vanguard 
This song is a commemoration to Sea☆A's debut and was chosen as the ending theme song for television animation "Cardfight! Vanguard". The song represents Sea☆A, showing their passion and determination to face challenges on their way towards their dreams. The limited first press edition of the single includes footages of their first trip to Japan and visit to Akihabara. Also, this song was chosen as the image song for AFA 11.



DELI=DELI☆DELICIOUS (October, 2011) - Ending Theme song of Toriko
The 2nd single of Sea☆A is featured as the ending theme of television animation "Toriko". This cheerful song shows the very exhilarating and lively world view of "Toriko". The cute coupling track "Renai Circulation", was a solo done by Valerie. The title also became a hot topic with the first A4 size photobook released along with the limited first press, and also the PV which used CG to represent the imaginary game world.





My Friendship Birthday (May, 2012) - Ending Theme song of One Stormy Night
The release of the 3rd single is also the first time Sea☆A's song is featured as the opening theme song for a television animation series. "Arashi no Yoru ~Himitsu no Tomodachi~ (Once Stormy Night)" was scheduled to be aired in 12 countries. With the release of the Japanese version, English version and Chinese version of the song, the true essences of the bilingual idol group can finally be discovered. Also, the coupling track was chosen as the CM song for Sapporo Drink's Ribbon series and also the short animation "Ribbon-chan" featured in Television Tokyo-kei's "Nori Star Max".
